School Holiday Coaching

The Warwickshire Cricket Board offers cricket courses for children during the school holidays for ages 5*-16. Course cost and times vary as do the level of skill required - check requirements before booking! Current courses or courses taking place in the near future are all listed below.

HARDBALL COACHING

Hardball Coaching courses take place during the winter months for keen cricketers wishing to prepare for the season ahead. The courses run in 6 weeks blocks and always prove very popular. The courses will help children to learn the necessary skills to make net coaching vauable and worthwhile. The coaching and activities will progress with the intention of enabling young cricketers to graduate into playing hardball cricket with confidence.
Children will be required to wear whites and provide their own cricket box for net sessions. For hardball cricket it is compulsory for batsmen to wear helmets and these can be borrowed from the Cricket Board.
PLEASE NOTE THESE COURSES ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS!
GROUP A - (8-11 YEAR OLDS)
GROUP B - (12-15 YEAR OLDS)

Games based Coaching

WINTER NETS

Bookings are, currently, being taken for Club Nets, after Christmas, but space is going fast. Members of the Club Together Scheme may book a lane for £22 per hour, instead of the normal peak-hour rate of £28 per hour. Places may, also, be booked on the Winter Coaching courses, by calling Bob Bassett on 0121 446 3633. Cost for an hour and a half’s coaching is £10 for Juniors (Saturdays and Sundays) and £12 for Seniors (Mondays and Thursdays). Qualified Coaches, trained mainly by the Warwickshire Cricket Board, oversee these courses, in a structured fashion, concentrating on individual batting and bowling skills.

WINTER COMMUNITY COACHING PROGRAMME

The courses are designed for all levels of enthusiastic young cricketers. All courses last for nine or 10 weeks and are run by ECB qualified coaches. 8-11 year olds receive group coaching, mainly with soft balls and learn the basics of matchplay. 11-15 year olds may have opportunities to play in the nets and will learn more advanced skills. All coaching will incorporate key features of the Long Term Athlete Development programme. One to One coaching

ONE TO ONE COACHING
