Usman Shabir (186) and Matthew Parker (142) put on a magnificent partnership of 330 for the 3rd wicket against shopshire at Bridgnorth Cricket Club. Both batters complimented each other superbly with Usman Shabir stroking the ball around the ground showing an excellent array of shots whilst Matthew Parker played the supporting role but also showed that he too could hit boundaries. Following his 150 in his previous innings, Shabir punished any bad balls to finish off 14 short of what would have been his first double hundred. When Shabir departed, Parker took up the mantle and started to play his shots to ensure that the run rate did not slow down. Special congratulations must go to Matthew Parker as this was his first county hundred in what is his first season of county cricket. |
